Founded in 1962 to minister to the community living west of Maple and east of Inkster, south of Lone Pine and north of 12 Mile roads. The parish has maintained an active presence in this community striving to be an open, welcoming and caring Catholic community of believers understanding themselves to be called to share, celebrate, renew and grow in our faith, love of God, and one another. We embrace Jesus by living out his teachings, values, and examples, and put our faith into action through service, tithing and outreach to others.
Since our foundation the community has been served by 7 different pastors and dozens of pastoral associates coordinating the mission of the parish. Currently Msgr. Michael LeFevre ministers to the sacramental needs of the parish and is joined by seven other staff members working to meet the needs of some 800 registered families. LeFevre, a native Detroiter was ordained in 1982 and has ministered at 9 different communities throughout the Archdiocese.
The community of St. Owen welcomes all visitors and the gifts they bring!
For nearly 60 years the family of St. Regis Catholic Parish has helped people to center their lives on Jesus Christ. This website serves as a means to communicate with our parish family, individuals, and families searching for a parish home. Our parishioners work together to build a friendly, welcoming and caring community that serves its members and provides outreach to the local community, Metropolitan Detroit, and around the globe.
We offer many ways for parishioners of all ages to get involved! We encourage all of our parish members to find their niche in parish life and to build God’s kingdom.
